a small Arctic gull, Xema sabinii, having a forked tail, gray head, and black collar.
- 1852  Sabine and ivory gulls, and other birds, such as ducks, brent geese, &c., were on their flight up the Channel.
- 1958  Few people have the opportunity to see Sabine's Gulls as they rarely come south even in the winter.
